About Inside the Canvas

Inside the Canvas is a quiet place on the internet to stand in front of great paintings and stay a while.

Every artwork comes from a museum's open-access collection and is public domain. For each one we write the true story (from museum and encyclopedia sources), our own perspective (clearly marked as opinion), and a Slow Look: a one-minute guided way of looking, like standing in a gallery.
